Analyze the economy of the 13 colonies with the Colonial Economies Map Colonial Economies Map (http://www.saisd.net/admin/curric/sstudies /handson/colonialeco.pdf) On an outline map of the 13 colonies, create symbols in a map key representing major economic activities (i.e. fishing, lumber, plantation crops, etc). Place the symbols on the location of the activities. Using play food or real products, have students represent different continents and simulate the Columbian exchange.
