Activities INTRODUCTION ACTIVITIES
Use a geographic dictionary or glossary to define the geographic elements using the Frayer model graphic organizer. View a teacher–created PowerPoint on the type of landforms. Students will complete a chart with the following headings: geographic term, definition, illustration. View Mr. Berlin’s landform PowerPoint and complete the landforms cloze. REINFORCEMENT ACTIVITES On an outline map of North America, draw an illustration of each element showing where it’s location. [Ex: glacier in Alaska, bay on Pacific coast, etc.]. Create a venn diagram to compare and contrast ANY 3 landforms. REVIEW ACTIVITIES Play Word Wall Match-Up in which students match each geographic term with it’s picture on the word wall (see example at right) Using the pages 104- 108 of the Passing the TCAP ebook, have students create a graphic 4X4 tic tac toe chart. In each square of the chart, students will draw a picture of a different geographic element.
