Read the account of Columbus’s arrival in America on pages 28-29 in the current textbook, and then read an entry from Columbus’s journal from the website listed. Classify each source as primary or secondary and explain your answer and list reasons why each is a primary or secondary source. Play the Flash! review game. Give students two different color index cards (i.e. red = primary source and blue=secondary source). Call out an example and have students "Flash!" the color card that correctly indentifies the source. ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES
